15 Motivation Tips That Take Under 5 Minutes To Do!

I know we all need motivation, but sometimes, because we are so busy at work or we have so much things to do, we just can't find the time to follow the instructions to get motivated. This is why I wrote these 15 motivation tips. They are effective and it only takes under 5 minutes to do each one of them. Enjoy!

1. The 5 minutes memory flash back

Think of a past moment in which you felt happy and motivated. Recall that moment. Close you eyes and try to see yourself there, in that place that made you so happy. Why were you happy and motivated? How can you get that feeling back?

Do this each time you need some motivation. It doesn't matter if you are at work or at home. You just have to find a quiet place for 5 minutes. You could even do this on a short brake, when you are alone.

2. Get that picture!

Find a picture online of a thing that you want to have and print it out. Put it on the wall in front of you or somewhere near you, so you can see often. Concentrate for a couple of minutes only on that image.

If it's a red Ferrari that you want, get that feeling. Imagine that you see that car in your backyard. Touch the car and open the door and get in. Maybe, you could take it for a drive. Although, right now this is just imagination, if you try this out for at least 30 days, interesting things will start to happen, and you will get closer and closer to making that picture a reality.

3. Do you here that?

Listen to the refrain of a melody you like (just the refrain) for 5 minutes. If you have this melody on your computer you can hit the back button and listen to only the part you like most. If you can't do this, you could also listen to the entire melody.

4. The list of quotes

Read a personal quote that motivates you or a special phrase. Find quote or make a collection of motivating quotes that you feel good about when reading and keep the list handy so you can read it often. In 5 minutes you can read a lot of quotes ;)

5. Create a list of things that one of your favorite people did great and not so great.

For example, if you admire Abraham Lincoln, make a list of things he failed at and then the things that made him famous. Do a search online and you'll see that Lincoln is a real proof that failure leads to greatness. His entire life is a proof of that. This will prove to you that you can make a lot of mistakes and have a lot of failures and still become one of the most known people in history. I think this is a little motivating, don't you?

6. Defy him

Call a friend that can cheer you up and tell him that you only have one minute and defy him to motivate you within this minute if he can. Offer to give him something in return (a prize) if he succeeds. This may work or not work, but if you ask the same person a couple of times, maybe sooner or later he will get prepared and the next time you call, he could really motivate you.

7. Ask for their help

You could also ask some of your friends to write a list of things that they think will motivate you and have it handy when you call them feeling unmotivated.

8. Play a game

Have the best score at minesweeper in under 5 minutes - for example, my girlfriend has finished minesweeper in under 60 seconds, at the intermediate level. In 5 minutes, you could play 4 or 5 games.

9. Eat your favorite food (one that you can eat in under 5 minute)

This could be an ice cream, an apple. Don't just rush to do it in 2 minutes. Use the whole 5 minutes to eat it and really enjoy it. Feel the cool ice cream melting down in your mouth, close your eyes and relax. After 5 minutes you will feel like a brand new person.

10. Push ups

Do how many push ups you can in under 5 minutes. Keep track of how many you do today and tomorrow try to do even more. This will greatly motivate you.

11. Test your speed.

Run as fast as you can for a couple of minutes or just run (it doesn't really have to be fast, although the adrenaline is greater when you run faster). Try to get the best time possible each time you run. You could even do a 50 m speed race with your friends.

12. Who is that?

Read the "about the author" section that is included in a book related to motivation, personal development, etc. See what he did and how he did it.

13. About me page

Read the about me page of a webmaster. Here is a motivating page you can check out It's short and really motivating. It takes under 5 minutes to read, so go read it.

14. Breath

Take long breaths of air for 5 minutes. This will oxygenate your brain and make you more attentive and motivate for a couple of hours. You usually breath without even knowing it, but when you breath intentionally, this will really show you the power of some fresh oxygen.

15. Make a list

Whenever you feel unmotivated, all you have to do is make a list of things that you want to have. This is a simple and great way to get motivated, and it takes little time to do. Just write down 3-10 things you desire, and think how you can get them faster. You could even concentrate on only the first item on the list and think of ways to get it until you get it. Then move on to the other things on the list and do the same.

I hope this was helpful for you. You can try any of these tips right now and please share if you experienced motivation or not. Did you find these tips helpful?
