23 Simple Things That Make You Feel Happy!

One of the missions of this site, and mine as well is to make people happier. I enjoy seeing people laugh and just feeling great. It makes me want to laugh and I feel as great as them.

This is a list of things that I try to do whenever I get a little down and need something to cheer me up. These things are so easy to do and so effective that you will want to do them over and over again. I hope this list will make you happy.

1. Go for a walk in the park. Walk slowly and admire the view.

2. Eat your favorite food (from what you already have in the house). It can be anything from a banana to a spaghetti plate. The catch is to eat it slow. Don't hurry. Take one bite at a time and really feel the flavor of the food. Let the food melt down in your mouth. Hmmm... This is making me hungry. I'll go see what's in the fridge :)

3. Repeat this: "I am the happiest man/woman on this earth! I feel amazing!" Repeat it at least 10 times every morning after you wake up and in the evening before you go to sleep. Repeating it in the morning will make you feel happy today and repeating it in the evening will make you have a better, more relaxed sleep and you will wake up with an amazing happiness without even knowing why you are so happy!

4. Jump. Jump like a mad man/woman! Have you ever seen a child jump for joy? Well, do the same. Better yet, if you have a child, ask him to teach you how to jump for joy and tell him to jump with you. This will be very fun! Just try it.

5. Take a hot shower. Just close your eyes and relax and let the water massage you. You will feel better and happier.

6. Go jogging. Run at a slow pace and breath regularly. Take the cold air into your lungs and then let it go and catch another breath of air and let it go.

7. Run as fast as you can. Just start running until you absolutely feel no drop of energy left in your body. Don't ask me how this is going to make you happy. Just do it and you will see.

8. Listen to music as loud as you can! Just plug in some giant boxes and hit play. Be careful though to not disturb or annoy your neighbors. (thanks for the tip Doug)

9. Listen to relaxing music. Make sure it's quiet were you are, sit comfortably in your favorite chair and listen to it. It doesn't really have to have words in it. It can be just music - no words. Imagine that you are a feather and you are just flying trough the universe. Relax and enjoy the ride.

10. Have a meeting with a friend and talk about everything under the sun. If you can, make a list of things to talk about so that you permanently have something to discuss. Write down a lot of things. It's better to have more things and not get to talk about them, then to have too little and not have topics to discuss on.

11. Hug everyone you know. This will perhaps shock some of them, but do it anyway. You will feel good and they will feel loved. After that, go and hug them again. Show them how much you love them. Words are important, but a hug will make them really feel your love.

12. Try to figure out what images are the clouds hiding. Try to see different images up in the sky. What does that cloud resemble to? Is that a rabbit up there?

13. Imagine that you are breathing in happiness. Think of all the happy memories and things you've done and take them in. Think of some bad ones and exhale them out. Then take the good things in and so on. Are you still thinking and not breathing?

14. Do you have grass in your backyard? Or maybe you have a park near you that has grass. Go there. Take your shoes off and go walking on the grass.

15. Ask someone who is a good "joke teller" to tell you some funny jokes. Tell him to tell you jokes until you can't stop laughing :))

16. Sing. Sing your favorite tone wherever you are: in the shower, in the car, at work. Without disturbing someone else, sing and be happy.

17. Try to make someone happy. Tell a joke, help him/her, do something funny to make him/her smile. Just make someone feel great and you will feel as well.

18. Just go crazy! Ah, I forgot to mention this...do it in public! This will be fun and you might just make some people passing by feel good as well.

19. Search for some funny pictures online. There are thousands of great pictures on the web. You could try to stumble some funny sites. Who knows what new sites you will come across?

20. Make a list of all the things that you have accomplished this year. If you think there aren't as many, then just do a list of all the things you accomplished in your life. Read the list everyday and you will feel happy when you see that you did all of that.

21. Set a small, but motivating goal each day. For example, set a goal of taking your child to the park today, or make that recipe you always wanted to make but always postponed. Just do something small each day.

22. Exercise every day. It doesn't have to be much. You could just do a warm up in 10 minute or less.

23. Ask yourself permanently: "What can I do now to be more happy?"

Another thing that would make me happy would be to know what else makes you feel happy. So, what other things make you happy? Just leave a comment bellow and share your happiness with all of us.

I embrace you,

I think there are 20 or so good tips here on making yourself feel happier.
I'm not sure about number 8. I don't think your happiness should come at the cost of making other people unhappy!

1st.

anddd this is stupid.

working out is good. you can't say "i am the happiest lbahbalbh" on the inside you know it's bullshit so instead try saying

"Every day, in every way, i am getting better and better."

cheers

Mental Origami, I recommended saying "I am happy..." because it's a how to be happy post. Your idea is also good, but, as you probably know, affirmations have no power of their own unless you repeat them for a long period of time.

It doesn't matter that much if you don't believe in them at first. If you just keep repeating them long enough, they will work. I've tried this and it worked for me, although at first I didn't believe what I was saying, but I tried it to see if it really worked or not. And it did. I hope others will find affirmations helpful as well.

Good list except for # 11 could be a problem and get some people into trouble. I would of added help someone you don’t know.

Kiefer, hugging someone is kind of unexpected for some people, so there could be some problems, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. A lot of people will feel great after you've gave them a hug! For me, the downsides are much smaller than the actual gain of doing this!

Glad you liked it, Ruben! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks Anonymous!

I embrace you all,
