The Daily Motivation Treatment - Have You Had Your Daily Motivation Pill Today?


I often wonder how can I get motivated and most important how can I stay that way throughout the entire day. I guess we all have days when it just seems that everything is going the wrong way and it looks like we’re heading for certain disaster. Did you have such a day lately? I know I had. And man, did I need my daily motivation…

I had a “don’t know what to do” day, as I call them, just a couple of days back. The interesting thing about this is how I got out of this state of self pity by using my daily motivation “pill”. Actually it’s more a treatment then a pill, because it’s composed of lots of small, red, sweet, positive little pills that add up to form a giant, unbreakable, superb day.

So, without further jabbering, here’s “The Daily Motivation Treatment”

Daily Motivation Pill No.1

As soon as you get up in the morning and you feel tense or unease do the following. Go and look for your photo album and start looking through your pictures. Search for pictures of joy and happiness. Pictures of people you love and moments of unforgettable joy from your past. This will make you feel a little better and in some cases the results are even better.

My suggestion, for an even better daily motivation, is to watch some pictures and then stop and focused on the one that you feel it means the most to you and brings you the most happiness when you remember that specific moment in your life.

Stop right there and get the feeling. Get the feeling of exactly what you felt the day and moment the picture was taken. It could be your wedding day, the day you got your driver’s license, the day you met your loved one or the day you climbed on top of mount Everest (I hope this is the one J). It could be anything. It’s all up to you. This is your moment.

After you found that great picture, relax and close your eyes and just try to see the picture with your eyes closed. Do you see it yet? Try to feel the wind that was blowing that day. See the trees that were around you or whatever was around you.

See the people that were there and just for a moment pretend that you returned back in time and are reliving that moment. Feel the joy of the moment from the bottom of your heart. Don’t hold back, let your senses run freely and just live the moment. Feel a little better now? Well good, and this is just the beginning.

After you do this for 10-15 minutes open your eyes and return to your normal activities, but keep the feeling with you. This feeling can hold you in a state of happiness and motivation from one hour to the entire day, depending on what you have to do that day and how low are your motivation batteries. If you try this and you’re still not motivated, maybe it’s good for you to try a different approach.

Daily Motivation Pill No.2

A great motivator is talking about your plans with someone else. But be careful who you talk to! Only talk to people that care about you know are positive and willing to listen and even help you. I have to warn you that sometimes, even our own relatives, though well intended, will drive our motivation into the ground!

That’s because, maybe your plans seem too big and unrealistic to them or they think that if they never did what you are trying to do, it can’t be done. Anyway be very, very careful who you chose to share your plans. If chosen right, his could be the motivation you need to get going and take action.

Daily Motivation Pill No.3

Another thing you can do to increase your daily motivation is to divide your main activities of the day in little, easy doable sub-activities that are easy to do and even fun and after you complete one you will feel pretty good and will want to do another and so on.

Soon after you will be all fired up and you will get that big activity done in no time at all. You can think of it like taking baby steps towards learning to walk. Each small step will help you get closer to achieving your goal and will feed you daily motivation.

Daily Motivation Pill No.4

This is the simplest step you can take towards your daily motivation, yet it’s one of the most effective. I’m talking about the good old laughter. It’s a great way to feel good and motivated, so start laughing J I mean it! Just laugh, and if you can’t do it, try to find something funny in a magazine, read a joke or watch a funny show. Do anything that makes you laugh! Laughter is very powerful and will destroy the feeling of being overwhelmed, which sucks away motivation.

These are some of the best daily motivation tips that will work for you if you use them. So go ahead and try them and see how you react to each one and remember, to keep being motivated you have to keep “hitting” yourself with these little pills on and on until you will automatically do them whenever you feel down. Practice makes perfect and if you practice motivation on a daily basis you will become more and more motivated. Good luck and I hope it works for you as well!
