28 Ways To Motivate Yourself To Clean Your House/Room

Cleaning the house can sometimes require a great motivation. When we see that big pile of things that need to be sorted out, we usually say "I'll do it later". I think most of us face these things before starting to clean our house or room (I know I need motivation to start) and this is why I've gathered all the tips and ways to motivate yourself to clean the house that I could think off and usually use plus all the things other people seem to use to motivate themselves. I hope it helps both you and me.

1. Listen to music

For some people, listening to music is a good motivator to clean their house. I doesn't always work, but you should at least give it a try and see how it goes for you. Put your favorite music in a playlist (maybe you could include here the most motivating songs for you) and start cleaning.

2. Set rewards

Setting a reward for a job well done can sometimes motivate you to do the job. Promise yourself a big, juicy reward after you've cleaned your home. Make it something that you always wanted to get but postponed. It doesn't really have to be something expensive, it has to be something that creates a desire in you to have it. The desire will make you clean your house or room.

3. Ask for help

Call someone to help you with the cleaning and do the same for them. It's much easier to have a helping hand. It makes cleaning fun and easier.

4. Chat with a friend

If you can't find anyone that would came and help, at least get someone to just talk to you while you clean up. Talking to someone makes you keep your mind busy and you will be distracted from the "tough" job you are doing to the little chat that you are having with your friend.

5. Start a competition

If you have a roommate then challenge him/her to a time duel: who ever finishes cleaning his part of the room/house first will receive a reward from the other one. If you don't have a roommate, you could do this with a friend or with someone that is also cleaning his home at the same time as you. You can call him/her from time to time to see how things are going. These calls will also motivate you.

6. Get in the Guinness Book

If you can't find anyone to compete against, then compete against yourself. Try to constantly beat your own cleaning record. Set a timer and see how long it takes you to clean a part of the house or the entire house and then beat that time.

7. Invite someone over

Nothing motivates people into cleaning up their houses more than the chilling thought that people are going to see the dirty room/house they live in. Don't just call a friend over that you have no actual fear about. Call your grandmother or grandfather or your parents, anyone that will make you clean up.

8. Work out

Do a little work out before you start or even go running for a couple of minutes. This will give you energy and motivation that need to be spent. It's about that great feeling that you get after you work out or run, you feel like you could actually fly. Use that feeling to get the job done.

9. Visualize the clean room/house

Imagine that your room/house is clean. Close your eyes and see everything clean and tidy and right were their supposed to be. Try to even feel the fresh sent of cleanness and actually touch a couple of clean things while you are imagining this.

Seeing the house clean will make you more motivated into actually cleaning it and because you already saw it you know that it's possible to be cleaned no matter how hard this may seem now. Also, by using your imagination you have actually made a mental plan, a map of how you should arrange everything in the room. Follow the map and get started.

10. Buy something

Buying something new before they start cleaning seems to motivate some people into actually starting to clean. I think it's the energy that a new thing brings to us. You can try this and see if you can use that energy towards cleaning your house.

11. Turn cleaning time into fun time

Turn your cleaning into a fun game. You could try to throw as many things possible for 15 minutes. Then you could arrange some things for the next 15 minutes. Count the number of things you arranged and give yourself points for each one.

12. Take a break

Schedule some breaks along the way and go get yourself a cup of coffee or watch TV. Do whatever you like in your breaks, just don't do it for more than 10-15 minutes. You will recharge your batteries and be ready to get back to cleaning with new energy.

13. Do it all in one giant effort

Without looking back start doing whatever you can until you fall down. Throw out stuff, arrange it, clean it until you feel tired and only then look behind and see how well you've done. Doing something without taking a break or stopping to think about which step in next and so on, motivate some into doing things. Most of us like to get things done fast and we get a great feeling when we complete tasks this why, so why not try it on cleaning too?

14. Vary your schedule

Making a new, improved schedule each time your clean the house will help you into staying interested in keeping your home clean. Also doing things in a new way will greatly motivate you.

15. Do the important things first

Ask yourself: what are the things that if done would make this room/house look cleaner and ease my job? The answers to this are the first things you should be doing. Doing this first will break your mental block (that little voice that is telling you that you won't get the house cleaned, that it's too much work etc) and you will be able to continue cleaning with more motivation and energy.

16. Put things in order

Buy boxes or containers so that you can put all your things in order. This will help you get motivated to clean because you know that you have where to put all your stuff.

17. 15 minutes tidying

For 15 minutes, on the clock, do some tidying. Begin at the door of a room or wherever you feel comfortable starting and move clockwise until the time runs out. Then take a break and repeat the process until you either have finished the job or are tired of it.

18. Do one thing at a time

I've found this little story here and I thought it would be useful:

"My sister went through a phase (at 27, mind you, not a kid) of not tidying her room. It really got her down. So one day, while she was sat on the bed moaning about what a mess it was, I told her to pick up the pair of socks she had her feet on. She did, while continuing moaning. 20 minutes later, simply by making her pick up one thing and deal with it, the floor was tidy, without her even realizing she's done it.

Moral - do literally one thing at a time, and do something to distract you while you do it. Maybe even just start at the doorway, and work your way in?"

19. Talk to a professional

If any of these tips here don't seem to work for you, maybe you should consider talking to a professional organizer to see if this approach helps you. It's worth a try.

20. Watch home improvement TV shows

This can help in the way that you could get some new ideas on how to better clean your home, how to arrange stuff and you could learn of new tools and ways to make it all easier.

21. Set goals

Make a list of goals. Be sure to make them realistic and achievable. You could set yourself the goal of cleaning a part of the house today instead of trying to clean the entire house. Or you could have a goal of sorting some things from your house or anything you want. The point is to set goals and achieve them until you finished cleaning your house.

22. Think of unusual approaches

Start thinking of your own approaches to the whole cleaning thing. You could even combine two or three ideas together and form a whole new one that fits you. You won't know how helpful this could be until you try.

23. Keep your tools close

Make sure that you always have all the things that you need close at hand. Make a list of the things you will need for cleaning a room and keep those things close to you so you don't have to lose any time looking for them when you need them.

24. Plan some changes

You could make cleaning a fun experience by incorporating change into the process.
Every time you clean you can make some changes in a room or the entire house. This little idea can motivate you to start cleaning, knowing that your house will look different in the end.

25. Throw it all out

Some people get motivated by throwing things they don't need out. Just grab a bag and start throwing out all the things that you don't need anymore. You just might find this as being very motivating.

26. Use carpet scents

Buy a carpet scenter that you enjoy and requires vacuuming. Sprinkle it on your carpets and you will have no choice but to vacuum them to get that special smell. Some people find that this motivates them into vacuuming and generaly cleaning their homes.

27. Try a new cleaning tool/product

Trying something new is fun and cleaning makes no exception to this. Buy yourself the new cleaning wonder and test it to see how it goes. Try to make your work easier by getting tools that do the job for you or at least make your chores a lot easier.

28. Search for websites that help you

Do a search on google for "how to clean my house" or something related and you will get a lot of sites that can help you make cleaning more efficient. Seeing that it can be done easier you will more motivated to clean your home.

What other things motivate you to clean your house/room?

I embrace you,

Time pressure - Is it bad or good for you? Part 2

Regarding the last post "Time pressure - Is it bad or good for you?", I wanted to point out something and I think I got a little carried away and missed my target. So here I am to straighten things out. What I wanted to talk about in that post, except what I already said, was that sometimes you have days when you aren’t that organized and it could turn out to be a good thing after all. And another great thing about doing things on the last 100 meters is that it often gives you an unbelievable motivation to get the job done.

This is also the case in my former example from my last post. I was so motivated in finishing that project and not just finish it but do it in a great way, that eventually I hit my target right in the center. The thought that I was pressured by time seemed to work wonders on me. I was excited in getting this project done because I knew I had a pretty good chance of impressing my teacher because of the length and depth of the project.

That image of the teacher praising the project was all I needed to put in 200% and in the end I think I’ve even broke that barrier and I know you can do it as well. You just need something to do it for. You need a clear image of the reward your are going to get if you do a good job. I was so motivated that on the way to school I felt like I was literally flying and I couldn’t wait to see the reaction of my teacher and colleagues. And it was even more than I expected it to be. I truly hope you also experience this as often as possible because it’s damn great!

Now this can or can not be the case for you. You could do well under pressure or you could crack. The idea here is to try a couple of times to intentionally put yourself under pressure and see how you react to it. If this works and you discover that you do well under pressure you made a great discovery that could be he difference between success and failure for you!

And if you find yourself stuck and realize that you aren’t so good with doing things under pressure then it’s no big deal. It’s time well spent because you found out something that you aren’t that good at and either must avoid doing or could try to improve on it. So it’s a good thing to do in my opinion, but do it more than once to have a clear result. I suggest you do it at least 4 times.

Well, that’s kind of what I wanted to say and I hope it gave you a couple of good ideas to try on. Have an inspired day!

I embrace you,
Razvan Dobre

Time pressure - Is it bad or good for you?

This is a post that I wrote a while ago and I'm posting it now as I feel it will help some people out. Enjoy and tell me what you thought of it!

Do you know how people say that being really organized and having a good time management will increase your potential for success? It’s true. I have no doubt about it. Tried it, used it, done it and got the results. And it’s always far better to be organized and have a clear map of what your doing and what you want to do in the near future. Did I say “always”? I meant 99% percent of the times. Here’s the remaining 1%.

Usually I’m pretty organized (usually means more than 80% of the time – I’m not perfect you know :) but today was a special day even if I wasn’t organized at all. I mean I had a plan of what I wanted to do today but I woke up feeling a little lazy and not wanting to do all that I’ve wrote on paper the other day. These days happen to me too and I’m sure you had your share of days like this. It’s ok to have some days when you just want to hang around and enjoy a sunrise or watch a TV show etc. But don’t overdo it! Too many days like this could ruin your life and your chances for success. A small percent of laziness is acceptable, but not more.

So, to get back to what I was saying, I woke up, had a good morning brunch and opened my computer. As I looked in my schedule I was feeling a little down because I had a project due tomorrow to make for school and I wasn’t in any hurry to finish it. Then I remembered that I had another project for today (it was an optional one) and I hadn’t done anything for it. So I started surfing the net for information on the top universities in the US, Canada, Europe, and World Top Rankings (that was the assignment). After searching for 45 minutes I found and interesting site that had these rankings and they were organized very well and were updated recently.

So I started searching the site and found what I had to write about. I took some information from the site and added some personal things to it and was pretty pleased with myself and then it hit me. I remembered one of my rules and that was “Always do more than it is asked of you!”. I knew that I could skip this and not abide this rule. After all it was my decision. “No one will ever know” a voice seemed to tell me. But I decided to abide my rule because I was the one in charge not that pesky voice and after all I had the power to do it or not.

And this was one of those moment that don’t look that important, but can set a course of further actions that will either make you or break you. That’s why everything counts. The small things and the not so small ones. They all add up. Knowing this pretty well, as I already gone through this process of having to decide if I do something that looked small or not in the past I knew it was an important decision. So I though and I though some more. Nope! Actually I decided in about 10 seconds that I was going to blow my teacher off of his chair with my project! So I got to work.

I’ve researched some more sites and found more interesting data and added it into my project. Then I thought “The teacher said: Top Universities from US, Canada, Europe, and World Top Rankings. So what if I did more than this. What if I researched Africa, Oceania, The Middle East and Latin America? And even more, what if I also do a distribution by continent and by country (this meant that the universities were in a separate ranking by continents and country and were ranked on how many universities were present in the first 200, 500 and 1 000 from each country and continent). So I started working on that.

Although I was doing my best, I was under a time pressure as it was about 11:30 and I knew it was a lot of work involved, but I pushed on and on. It got 12:30 and I was supposed to leave for school at 13:15 and imagine this: I had to finish the project which meant organizing the date and making the whole thing look nice and appealing. I was unshaved and man would that make a bad impression on my teacher! So I had to shave.

And on top of all that, my printer run out of paper! I could have given up right then and there and some thoughts were going through my head saying “You don’t really have to go to school today.” or “ It’s ok if you don’t finish this, you did your best and that’s all that matters”. But I knew that if I was going to keep my word and abide my personal law I had to go all the way. So I started looking for paper in my campus(as this is were I live currently) and I found a some paper at someone I knew and she was good enough to give me more than I needed. Problem solved.

Then I hurried back to my room and put the finishing touches on my project and modified it until I was more than satisfied with it. Now it was time for printing. Before I started to print I remembered another little rule of mine and it goes like this “Whenever it is in your power to help someone and if it doesn’t interfere too much with your own goals, do it and do it in a great way”. The shorter version of this would be "If it's possible, do it!"

Now, here’s what I mean with “if it doesn’t interfere too much with your own goals”: I love helping people, but I know that sometimes I can’t help them because it will involve time and effort and I won’t be able to finish my own work in time. I think this is just life and you might have gone through this too. Maybe you also had moments when you really wanted to help someone but if you did that would have meant that you could not complete what you were doing. It’s a hard decision but we all have to take it now and then.

But this time, it was in my power to help some people out so I didn’t think twice. In this case, I could help two of my colleagues by putting their names besides mine as the authors of this project and I did it. I didn’t do this for any thank you or something like that. I just did it because I had the power to do it. And I’m only telling you this to give you some ideas of what you can also do to help others. I hope it helps you :)

So anyway, I did that and I finished the project and then I started printing it. And then I remembered I was still unshaved! So while my printer was doing it’s job I ran to the bathroom and I did a “superman type shave” :) (I mean I was all shaved up in less than 3 minutes on the clock and without any cuts either – my personal best until now, but who knows :)) So I finished shaving and got back to my printer which was still doing her job. Yes, it was still printing because it had a lot of pages to print. I forget to tell you something important. The project was supposed to have about 10-15 pages max. Mine had 55 in the end! So my poor printer had a lot of work ahead!

In the end I was ready and had even 1 minute to spare. The whole thing took me about 3 hours (with the additional two hours of extra work from the moment I decided to abide my rule) but boy was it worth it! And I knew it would be worth it! I knew it was going to be great, not because it was made by me, but because I abide my rules (including helping others) and I didn’t give up and in some strange way I always get unbelievable results whenever I do this. I will write more articles in which I will discuss other examples of great results I got by doing more than what I was supposed to do and some other small secret ingredients (got you curious, didn’t I? :)

After I finished printing the project I got dressed as fast as I could (I’m a pretty fast dresser so it was no problem :) and I headed to school. I walked a little faster and even ran a little bit, but I got there in time even if I was a little wet. But I had made it. No matter how small this may seem to you, for me it was a great thing. I enjoyed it and I know that it strengthened my self confidence and I just took another step towards achieving my goals.

But I didn’t tell you what happened at school, didn’t I? I got there all sweaty but with a big smile on my face and headed towards the teacher and handed him my project. Other colleagues were also doing this so the teacher didn’t see my project then. But then he started going through the projects and reading them briefly and they were all pretty good I guess, good info, though not more than 15 pages long. And then he reached and grabbed my project. I think he said “We have a big one here!” and asked who it belonged to.

I told him that it was me and my colleagues who were the authors and that the project had dealt with what was asked of it and a bit more as it included universities from Asia, Middle East, Africa, Oceania and a distribution by continent and by country. He got very excited about that and after going through it he said “It’s the best project until now and remind me when the day comes, to give you and your team mattes a bonus for this”

I was very happy then and I knew that my work had paid of. And most of all, I had achieved my main goal: I made my teacher happy and blew him off of his chair! Now this is just a little story about how determination and just doing it can do for you. You just have to go ahead and finish the job you have and always do more than what is asked of you and believe me, you will get results, far better results than anyone who doesn’t do this. I really hope that you’ve enjoyed this post which turned into an article and I would love to hear from you.

Was this article helpful in any way or will it help you in the future? Please share your comments. Thank you for sticking with me through the course of this article. Have a more than wonderful day and if it doesn’t start off that way, make it wonderful. Remember, it’s in your power!

23 Simple Things That Make You Feel Happy!

One of the missions of this site, and mine as well is to make people happier. I enjoy seeing people laugh and just feeling great. It makes me want to laugh and I feel as great as them.

This is a list of things that I try to do whenever I get a little down and need something to cheer me up. These things are so easy to do and so effective that you will want to do them over and over again. I hope this list will make you happy.

1. Go for a walk in the park. Walk slowly and admire the view.

2. Eat your favorite food (from what you already have in the house). It can be anything from a banana to a spaghetti plate. The catch is to eat it slow. Don't hurry. Take one bite at a time and really feel the flavor of the food. Let the food melt down in your mouth. Hmmm... This is making me hungry. I'll go see what's in the fridge :)

3. Repeat this: "I am the happiest man/woman on this earth! I feel amazing!" Repeat it at least 10 times every morning after you wake up and in the evening before you go to sleep. Repeating it in the morning will make you feel happy today and repeating it in the evening will make you have a better, more relaxed sleep and you will wake up with an amazing happiness without even knowing why you are so happy!

4. Jump. Jump like a mad man/woman! Have you ever seen a child jump for joy? Well, do the same. Better yet, if you have a child, ask him to teach you how to jump for joy and tell him to jump with you. This will be very fun! Just try it.

5. Take a hot shower. Just close your eyes and relax and let the water massage you. You will feel better and happier.

6. Go jogging. Run at a slow pace and breath regularly. Take the cold air into your lungs and then let it go and catch another breath of air and let it go.

7. Run as fast as you can. Just start running until you absolutely feel no drop of energy left in your body. Don't ask me how this is going to make you happy. Just do it and you will see.

8. Listen to music as loud as you can! Just plug in some giant boxes and hit play. Be careful though to not disturb or annoy your neighbors. (thanks for the tip Doug)

9. Listen to relaxing music. Make sure it's quiet were you are, sit comfortably in your favorite chair and listen to it. It doesn't really have to have words in it. It can be just music - no words. Imagine that you are a feather and you are just flying trough the universe. Relax and enjoy the ride.

10. Have a meeting with a friend and talk about everything under the sun. If you can, make a list of things to talk about so that you permanently have something to discuss. Write down a lot of things. It's better to have more things and not get to talk about them, then to have too little and not have topics to discuss on.

11. Hug everyone you know. This will perhaps shock some of them, but do it anyway. You will feel good and they will feel loved. After that, go and hug them again. Show them how much you love them. Words are important, but a hug will make them really feel your love.

12. Try to figure out what images are the clouds hiding. Try to see different images up in the sky. What does that cloud resemble to? Is that a rabbit up there?

13. Imagine that you are breathing in happiness. Think of all the happy memories and things you've done and take them in. Think of some bad ones and exhale them out. Then take the good things in and so on. Are you still thinking and not breathing?

14. Do you have grass in your backyard? Or maybe you have a park near you that has grass. Go there. Take your shoes off and go walking on the grass.

15. Ask someone who is a good "joke teller" to tell you some funny jokes. Tell him to tell you jokes until you can't stop laughing :))

16. Sing. Sing your favorite tone wherever you are: in the shower, in the car, at work. Without disturbing someone else, sing and be happy.

17. Try to make someone happy. Tell a joke, help him/her, do something funny to make him/her smile. Just make someone feel great and you will feel as well. You could even make someone happy just by listening to that person. Sometimes this is all it takes to change the day of someone else. You should learn some new listening skills exercises to be able to do this better.

18. Just go crazy! Ah, I forgot to mention this...do it in public! This will be fun and you might just make some people passing by feel good as well.

19. Search for some funny pictures online. There are thousands of great pictures on the web. You could try to stumble some funny sites. Who knows what new sites you will come across?

20. Make a list of all the things that you have accomplished this year. If you think there aren't as many, then just do a list of all the things you accomplished in your life. Read the list everyday and you will feel happy when you see that you did all of that.

21. Set a small, but motivating goal each day. For example, set a goal of taking your child to the park today, or make that recipe you always wanted to make but always postponed. Just do something small each day.

22. Exercise every day. It doesn't have to be much. You could just do a warm up in 10 minute or less.

23. Ask yourself permanently: "What can I do now to be more happy?"

Another thing that would make me happy would be to know what else makes you feel happy. So, what other things make you happy? Just leave a comment bellow and share your happiness with all of us.

I embrace you,
Razvan Dobre

10 Tips On How To Get Over The Need To Be Right

"I am right and you are wrong! Na na na!" This seems to be the words of a child that was always bugging you back in kindergarten. He always felt the need to be right, and the need to point out to you that if he is right, you must definitely be wrong. Do you remember this kid?

Well, children are children, and they don't know better, but the bad thing is that children turn into adults and their childish ""I am right and you are wrong! Na na na!" attitude, turns into a "Don't even say it, because it's surely wrong." attitude or "I told you so!". I think we all had to deal with this at least once in the past. But what happens if we are the ones that feel this need to be right?

How can we get rid of it and why would we want to do that?

Here are 4 reasons why you would want to get over the need to be right:

1. No one likes to hear the "I told you so!" remark. We all hate that. By telling someone this phrase, you are pointing out that you feel that you are smarter than anyone else and as a result, the others are "less smarter". And no one likes that.

This attitude "helps" you alienate yourself from people. People will try to avoid you as much as they can, because they know what you are going to say before you even say it: "I am right and you are wrong". Maybe you won't use these exact words, but the effect is the same.

2. You are only seeing the world in white and black. You will never get to see the wonderful colors that hide behind the "Need to be right" attitude.

3. Because you are too busy showing people that they are wrong and you are right, a multitude of opportunities will just pass you by. You won't even know they were there, until someone else grabs them and uses them to he's advantage.

4. You will not learn new things because you are stuck on that attitude. A lot of people that could help you with your work or personal development, will just pass you by, because you are so stubborn in your own thinking. You will be missing on so much potential growth! Because you will be too preoccupied to say what you have to say, you won't pay any attention to what others are saying and you won't learn nothing new.

If you found these 4 reasons enough to demand a change in your attitude, then here is a helping hand for you to get over the need to be right. Read the following 10 tips and use them to change your thinking.

10 tips to get over the need to be right

1. The 3 minutes mark

A great exercise that will help you get over the need to be right, is this:

Whenever you start talking, take a look at the clock and make it a rule for yourself to stop talking if you pass the 3 minutes mark. This need to be right makes you want to talk on and on, and if you consciously stop this, and discipline yourself to stop talking after 3 minutes and let the other person talk too, you will brake this bad habit.

If the 3 minutes mark doesn't do the trick, after you have tried it at least 5 times, than make it a 2 minutes mark instead. Remember, don't give up if it doesn't work the first time or the second! Give it time! Your habit needed time to develop, maybe even years, so getting rid of it will also take some time.

2. Is this any good for me?

Ask yourself this: "Does my being right benefit me in any way except making me feel good?" Think about this for a moment. Be completely honest and if you can't find anything helpful about this habit, maybe it's time to bury it.

3. Are you a little scared?

Feeling the need to be right often means a fear of being wrong. You have nothing to fear! We all learn from out mistakes! Actually, if you look at history and read autobiographies of known people, you will convince yourself that the greatest successes come only after you have done something wrong and learned from it. So, don't be afraid to be wrong. Learn from it. If being wrong seems terrifying to you, you should hit it where it hurts and do the following:

This may seem awkward to you, but make it a habit of being wrong! At least for a while, do your best at being wrong, and let others find the right answers. They will feel good about themselves, you will slowly get over the need to be right and you will have made new friends. Try it out a couple of times and you will be amazed by the simplicity of this exercise.

4. Don't interrupt!

Don't interrupt others while they are talking! Do you like being interrupted when you are talking? Well, then don't do it to others. No one likes that. If you just can't stop yourself from interrupting others, than take this little painful, yet effective action: bite your tong! Bite it right when you are ready to interrupt, and the pain will stop you from doing that. Although this may seem a little odd, it really works! Try it and you will see!

5. What are you really saying?

Pay special attention to your body language. This is very important! Without even know it, you might put some people off even when you aren't saying anything. Your gestures are talking for you, so pay attention to what they are saying! For example, keep a sharp look for things like rolling your eyes when someone is talking.

This means that you disapprove with what the other person is saying or even with that person. If the person sees you, he/she will feel offended and probably won't hang around you anymore. You have to take note of these kind of reactions and stop them before they go live and hurt someone's feelings.

6. Focus

If you feel this need to correct someone or prove that he/she is wrong, find something else to focus on. Try to focus on what the other person is saying and make a huge change in your attitude. How about you don't say "You are wrong!" anymore? What if you actually pay attention to the conversation and search for reasons that will lead you to say "You are absolutely right!"

Try to search for reasons why the other person might be right. In the past, you probably did the other way around, but if you want more friends, better relationships and respect from others, then do your best to do this. Don't just say they are right, without even knowing why is that. Instead, focus your total attention on the words of the speaker and ask yourself: "Could he/she be right?"

7. Summarize

When you disagree with someone's opinion, do it with stile. Summarize the other person's point of view before you say something bad about it. By summarizing you will actually better understand what they were trying to say and you will sometimes see something that you didn't see before. This could make you actually agree with the other person's idea, just because you understood it better.

8. The truth is...

Keep in mind that the truth is relative. What may be right today, may be wrong tomorrow! This is why you shouldn't hurry and say that you are right and the others are all wrong. It could turn out to be the other way around.

9. Let people learn their own lessons

You have to learn to give people a chance to learn their own lessons. This is specially useful for parents that sometimes feel the need to be right when talking to their children. Just because someone is older than the other person, doesn't always mean that he/she can understand the other person and tell them what to do.

Children, like all people, need to make some mistakes before they can learn a lesson and it's often much better that they go through an experience and learn from it. This way they will remember the lesson for all their life, where if someone just told them they shouldn't do this or that, they won't learn the lesson as well.

10. Walk the talk

Do your best to align whatever you say to whatever you do. This way people will see that you walk the talk and they will trust you and respect you more. They will listen to what you have to say, and you won't feel that desire to be right all the time, because you have nothing to prove to others. They already know that you are a man of your word.

The Daily Motivation Treatment - Have You Had Your Daily Motivation Pill Today?

I often wonder how can I get motivated and most important how can I stay that way throughout the entire day. I guess we all have days when it just seems that everything is going the wrong way and it looks like we’re heading for certain disaster. Did you have such a day lately? I know I had. And man, did I need my daily motivation…

I had a “don’t know what to do” day, as I call them, just a couple of days back. The interesting thing about this is how I got out of this state of self pity by using my daily motivation “pill”. Actually it’s more a treatment then a pill, because it’s composed of lots of small, red, sweet, positive little pills that add up to form a giant, unbreakable, superb day.

So, without further jabbering, here’s “The Daily Motivation Treatment”

Daily Motivation Pill No.1

As soon as you get up in the morning and you feel tense or unease do the following. Go and look for your photo album and start looking through your pictures. Search for pictures of joy and happiness. Pictures of people you love and moments of unforgettable joy from your past. This will make you feel a little better and in some cases the results are even better.

My suggestion, for an even better daily motivation, is to watch some pictures and then stop and focused on the one that you feel it means the most to you and brings you the most happiness when you remember that specific moment in your life.

Stop right there and get the feeling. Get the feeling of exactly what you felt the day and moment the picture was taken. It could be your wedding day, the day you got your driver’s license, the day you met your loved one or the day you climbed on top of mount Everest (I hope this is the one J). It could be anything. It’s all up to you. This is your moment.

After you found that great picture, relax and close your eyes and just try to see the picture with your eyes closed. Do you see it yet? Try to feel the wind that was blowing that day. See the trees that were around you or whatever was around you.

See the people that were there and just for a moment pretend that you returned back in time and are reliving that moment. Feel the joy of the moment from the bottom of your heart. Don’t hold back, let your senses run freely and just live the moment. Feel a little better now? Well good, and this is just the beginning.

After you do this for 10-15 minutes open your eyes and return to your normal activities, but keep the feeling with you. This feeling can hold you in a state of happiness and motivation from one hour to the entire day, depending on what you have to do that day and how low are your motivation batteries. If you try this and you’re still not motivated, maybe it’s good for you to try a different approach.

Daily Motivation Pill No.2

A great motivator is talking about your plans with someone else. But be careful who you talk to! Only talk to people that care about you know are positive and willing to listen and even help you. I have to warn you that sometimes, even our own relatives, though well intended, will drive our motivation into the ground!

That’s because, maybe your plans seem too big and unrealistic to them or they think that if they never did what you are trying to do, it can’t be done. Anyway be very, very careful who you chose to share your plans. If chosen right, his could be the motivation you need to get going and take action.

Daily Motivation Pill No.3

Another thing you can do to increase your daily motivation is to divide your main activities of the day in little, easy doable sub-activities that are easy to do and even fun and after you complete one you will feel pretty good and will want to do another and so on.

Soon after you will be all fired up and you will get that big activity done in no time at all. You can think of it like taking baby steps towards learning to walk. Each small step will help you get closer to achieving your goal and will feed you daily motivation.

Daily Motivation Pill No.4

This is the simplest step you can take towards your daily motivation, yet it’s one of the most effective. I’m talking about the good old laughter. It’s a great way to feel good and motivated, so start laughing J I mean it! Just laugh, and if you can’t do it, try to find something funny in a magazine, read a joke or watch a funny show. Do anything that makes you laugh! Laughter is very powerful and will destroy the feeling of being overwhelmed, which sucks away motivation.

These are some of the best daily motivation tips that will work for you if you use them. So go ahead and try them and see how you react to each one and remember, to keep being motivated you have to keep “hitting” yourself with these little pills on and on until you will automatically do them whenever you feel down. Practice makes perfect and if you practice motivation on a daily basis you will become more and more motivated. Good luck and I hope it works for you as well!

Feeling tired? Then You Haven't Tried This...

Feeling tired? If you are then maybe this will help a little bit.

Maybe you feel tired and weak with lack of energy, and you feel like you could fall down at any moment. It feels like you’ve been running 40 miles without stopping. And this might be alright if it happened now and then, but it happens very often. So, you naturally ask yourself: “How do I stop feeling tired?”

Well, there are some good ways of getting over this nasty state of weakness and lack of energy, but I’m not going to go over them here. All I want to point out in this post is something more important than vitamins or something related. And I’m going to do this by asking you this question:

When you ask someone what should you do to stop feeling tired, what do they normally tell you? Is it something like: “Take some vitamins. I do and I stopped feeling tired.” or “You should relax and sleep more than usual and you will feel great!” So you go to the local pharmacy and buy some vitamins and then head straight to bed. And after 8-10 hours of sleep or maybe even more you feel great.

I guess this could work in some cases, but what it mostly does is make you feel even more tired, or you initially feel good but soon after you start feeling tired again.

I sometimes feel very tired too, and I tried different methods of getting over this and I like one in particular. I call it “Feeling tired? Get to work then!”. I guess it’s sort of the exact opposite of what you would normally do when feeling tired, but it works great for me and I hope it helps you as well. So here it goes.

When you start feeling tired don’t go rushing to the nearest pharmacy just because someone told you so. Instead, stop for a second and ...take a short nap. Just kidding :) Stop and ask yourself this “What can I do right now to feel even more tired?” Now, I’m sure you weren’t expecting this! You might be saying “Are you out of you’re mind?”

I probably am but that’s another story ! The idea is that when you start feeling tired you have to battle it in a different way than vitamins if you want to get rid of it once and for all or at least be to be ready for it when it comes again.

In order to do this you have to put the pedal to the medal and when you feel tired you have to do something that will get you even more tired!!! I’ve done this recently when I was tired after a long day and in the evening I had an invitation to a concert.

It was going to be a great concert and I really wanted to go and even if I could hardly walk I decided I wouldn’t let this little tiredness stop me (and I wanted to retest my “Feeling tired? Get to work then!” strategy again). So I went and I’m so glad I did! It was the best concert I have ever gone to in my life!

And I danced and danced until I felt that I would fall down. I was feeling tired and weak with lack of energy at some point, but believe or not I pushed it even harder and danced some more :) By the time I got home I was feeling a little tired but I was very, very happy that I didn’t let this stop me.

I’ve proven once again that even if I’m tired I still got a lot of energy left. And you have too! Even if you feel very tired, know that you probably have more than 80% of your energy still left and waiting for a chance to get out!!! It’s true! You probably heard that us, humans only use 2% of our mental capacities! 2%! Can You believe this!

And people that use 4% are the geniuses of our world! The idea is that we are only using 2% and just look at all the things that we do each day, and the things that we achieve! Just think if we were to use 4%, 6% or even more! Man, wouldn’t that be amazing? It’s the same idea with the energy. Even though you are feeling tired and weak with lack of energy, you still have a lot more energy than you might think, so use it!

Well that’s kind of all my two cents and I really hope that this little trick will help you as it helped me. “Feeling tired? Get to work then!”

15 Motivation Tips That Take Under 5 Minutes To Do!

I know we all need motivation, but sometimes, because we are so busy at work or we have so much things to do, we just can't find the time to follow the instructions to get motivated. This is why I wrote these 15 motivation tips. They are effective and it only takes under 5 minutes to do each one of them. Enjoy!

1. The 5 minutes memory flash back

Think of a past moment in which you felt happy and motivated. Recall that moment. Close you eyes and try to see yourself there, in that place that made you so happy. Why were you happy and motivated? How can you get that feeling back?

Do this each time you need some motivation. It doesn't matter if you are at work or at home. You just have to find a quiet place for 5 minutes. You could even do this on a short brake, when you are alone.

2. Get that picture!

Find a picture online of a thing that you want to have and print it out. Put it on the wall in front of you or somewhere near you, so you can see often. Concentrate for a couple of minutes only on that image.

If it's a red Ferrari that you want, get that feeling. Imagine that you see that car in your backyard. Touch the car and open the door and get in. Maybe, you could take it for a drive. Although, right now this is just imagination, if you try this out for at least 30 days, interesting things will start to happen, and you will get closer and closer to making that picture a reality.

3. Do you here that?

Listen to the refrain of a melody you like (just the refrain) for 5 minutes. If you have this melody on your computer you can hit the back button and listen to only the part you like most. If you can't do this, you could also listen to the entire melody.

4. The list of quotes

Read a personal quote that motivates you or a special phrase. Find quote or make a collection of motivating quotes that you feel good about when reading and keep the list handy so you can read it often. In 5 minutes you can read a lot of quotes ;)

5. Create a list of things that one of your favorite people did great and not so great.

For example, if you admire Abraham Lincoln, make a list of things he failed at and then the things that made him famous. Do a search online and you'll see that Lincoln is a real proof that failure leads to greatness. His entire life is a proof of that. This will prove to you that you can make a lot of mistakes and have a lot of failures and still become one of the most known people in history. I think this is a little motivating, don't you?

6. Defy him

Call a friend that can cheer you up and tell him that you only have one minute and defy him to motivate you within this minute if he can. Offer to give him something in return (a prize) if he succeeds. This may work or not work, but if you ask the same person a couple of times, maybe sooner or later he will get prepared and the next time you call, he could really motivate you.

7. Ask for their help

You could also ask some of your friends to write a list of things that they think will motivate you and have it handy when you call them feeling unmotivated.

8. Play a game

Have the best score at minesweeper in under 5 minutes - for example, my girlfriend has finished minesweeper in under 60 seconds, at the intermediate level. In 5 minutes, you could play 4 or 5 games.

9. Eat your favorite food (one that you can eat in under 5 minute)

This could be an ice cream, an apple. Don't just rush to do it in 2 minutes. Use the whole 5 minutes to eat it and really enjoy it. Feel the cool ice cream melting down in your mouth, close your eyes and relax. After 5 minutes you will feel like a brand new person.

10. Push ups

Do how many push ups you can in under 5 minutes. Keep track of how many you do today and tomorrow try to do even more. This will greatly motivate you.

11. Test your speed.

Run as fast as you can for a couple of minutes or just run (it doesn't really have to be fast, although the adrenaline is greater when you run faster). Try to get the best time possible each time you run. You could even do a 50 m speed race with your friends.

12. Who is that?

Read the "about the author" section that is included in a book related to motivation, personal development, etc. See what he did and how he did it.

13. About me page

Read the about me page of a webmaster. Here is a motivating page you can check out It's short and really motivating. It takes under 5 minutes to read, so go read it.

14. Breath

Take long breaths of air for 5 minutes. This will oxygenate your brain and make you more attentive and motivate for a couple of hours. You usually breath without even knowing it, but when you breath intentionally, this will really show you the power of some fresh oxygen.

15. Make a list

Whenever you feel unmotivated, all you have to do is make a list of things that you want to have. This is a simple and great way to get motivated, and it takes little time to do. Just write down 3-10 things you desire, and think how you can get them faster. You could even concentrate on only the first item on the list and think of ways to get it until you get it. Then move on to the other things on the list and do the same.

I hope this was helpful for you. You can try any of these tips right now and please share if you experienced motivation or not. Did you find these tips helpful?

16 Of The Best Tips To Better Comprehend and Remember What You Read

If you're having problem with remembering and comprehending a book or something you read on a website, then know that this article is written for you. I used to have these problems as well, until I learned these tips.

Some of them I use often and I saw a real improvement in remembering and comprehending what I read (I frequently use just a couple and I'm doing pretty good - if I would use them all I would become a master in comprehension :) maybe in the future I will).

These are very simple and easy to put to action tips, and they do the trick. They will help you become a better reader, improve your memory skills and comprehension skills. Try them out and share your experience with us all, and if you have new ideas and tips on how to improve comprehension, all you have to do is leave your comment.

1. Do you have a pen?

This is one of the simplest and yet, most effective tips to comprehend and remember what you read. I'm talking about having a pen or pencil near you so that you can underline the paragraphs that you find inspiring or important. This is so simple to do, but I wonder how many people actually do it. Do you do this? I sure do. But, in the past, I use to think that underlining only makes the book look ugly and I wouldn't do it.

But you know what? I realized that it's my book and I can do whatever I want with it and even more, I asked myself: "Why is the real reason why I'm reading a book?" Do you know why you are reading? Well, my reason was "Because I want to learn new things and put them to use to improve my life and the lives of people around me."

If you want to get the same results as me, then you should at least think about underlining. It's just great! I can't even begin to tell you how much time underlining saves me, because I often re-read books and because I underline, I find it easier to remember a lot of things and this makes it easy to read the book again.

2. Grab an agenda

Have an agenda near you as well. You ca use it to write down interesting facts, statistics or quotes that you find inspiring and motivational. It's a great way to remember the essential of a book. I know it takes a little time, but I say it's well worth it! I do this all the time, because it helps me remember things better (because of the fact that I read the text and also write it down, and this pushes it even deeper into my memory).

Writing things down also helps you if you need some inspiration in a specific area. It's like a resume of the book (and it's even better and faster then reading the whole book because it's what you liked the first time you've read it and now you can find it faster then if you had to research it through the book). Think about it and give the agenda a try!

3. Stop reading!

From time to time, put a stop to your reading and just relax. Try to imagine (if possible) what you are reading. Try to see the things described in the book. Try to feel them. This will make your reading a great experience and one that you will surely remember for a long time. It's a great way to get the most out of a book, so try it out!

4. Talk about it

After you have read a chapter or even the whole book, try to find someone to talk to about it. It could be someone that has read the book and remembers it. You could even do something like before you start reading a book, search for people that are reading the same book (search online and offline) so that after you have finished it, you could have a discussion about it, if the others are also interested.

This will ensure that you remember and comprehend the book you've just read. It will also give you a chance to see what others are thinking about different subjects and maybe someone will point out something from the book that you didn't observe. It's definitely a good idea to try.

If you can't find anyone to do this with, at least talk to someone who is a good listener. Tell him/her about the best parts in the book and try to get a conversation going. It's a win-win situation. You will better comprehend the book and by talking about it you will make it stick to your brain a lot longer, and the other person will be able to learn the essential from this book without having to read it himself.

5. A quiet corner or the melodious sound of a drum?

Try to find a quiet place to read. Or make it as loud as you can! I'm not kidding! Some people have this "gift" of being able to read and comprehend what they are reading even if someone is playing the drums right next to them! For me, this is just amazing! For others, this is actually a must. They need some kind of noise around them when they read. You just have to find out if you read better where there's quiet or if you need some music, maybe, to get the most out of reading.

Some people find it very difficult to concentrate when there's noise around them. A quiet place makes them feel relaxed and reading a book is a wonderful experience for them, in these conditions. You just have to see what fits you and do it.

6. Should I do this too...?

Don't try to multitask while reading. Even if you have a lot of things to do, don't try do do something else while you read. This will get you nowhere. You won't remember much form the book and your other activity will also have to suffer. It's like trying to shoot two rabbits at once: you end up by getting none.

Although there are a small number of people that can multitask and get the most out of what they are reading, I would suggest that you don't try this. When you want to read, do just that, read. Don't do anything else.

7. Get ready! Set! Go!

Don't hurry! You are not in a race here! Read in your own pace. When reading, you must enjoy it so that you can truly comprehend and remember what you read. No one is hurrying you but yourself, so don't go this way. Take is slow and easy! Try to absorb what you are reading and really feel the book if you can.

8. Take a brake

In my country, Romania, we have an old saying or kind of a joke which goes something like this: "Taking long and often breaks leads to success". while in some fields this is a bad thing, when it comes to reading this is a very good things to do. By taking a break after 20 minutes of reading you are giving your brain a chance to get some fresh oxygen and you are also filling up your comprehension batteries. After the brake, you will have a higher level of comprehension.

9. A super technique for comprehending and remembering more of what you read!

Very important!

This is one of the greatest techniques to better comprehend and remember what you are reading! It's one of the most important 3 things on my "to do when reading" list!

Read a chapter twice and only then move to the next one and do the same with the others (I first heard of this technique from Dale Carnegie's book called How to Win Friends & Influence People) Although this will take you more time, you are sure to get a lot more out of the book and remember more. I use this often and it works like magic. It's just unbelievable! I often even remember page numbers of where what I'm looking for is in a certain book! So, yes, this really works!

10. You are not at school!

Don't try to read correctly. You are not reading for someone else. You are reading for yourself and you are allowed to make mistakes. It's ok. No one is going to give you an F if you read a word or two or even more incorrectly. No one is looking, so read normally, without any fear.

11. Say it loud and proud

Read out loud if you can. This will greatly benefit your comprehension of what you are reading and will allow you to better grasp the book. When you are also saying out loud what you are reading, you are actually repeating it and so, you will remember more and understand better.

12. Get prepared

Before you start reading you can get a first impression of the book. You could skim some pages and see if there are some unfamiliar words that you need to look up in the dictionary. This will save a lot of time and you won't be needing to stop reading and loose track of what you are reading, just because there's a little darn word that doesn't make any sense in there. You can also check the book's summary to see what's this book all about.

13. Tip number seven in reverse

Get some speed in there! While reading slowly is a very good thing to do, reading too slowly is just as bad as reading too fast (well, maybe not as bad, but it's pretty close :). Some people take too much time to correctly pronounce the words they are reading that they often become unable to see the ig picture any more. Too much concentration is as bad as none at all!

If you tend to also focus on correctly pronouncing the words, then it's a good idea to put a piece of paper over the words right before you read them. This way, you will be "training" your eyes to look ahead instead of the word you are reading.

14. Make connections

Try to make a couple of connections here and there. Try to connect what you are reading with something that you have experienced in the past or even something that you know about. Maybe you are reading a description of a beautiful house. To remember it better, try to look around in your own house and put the things from the book right in your house using imagination. It's really a fun and useful process to do! Making connections will increase the level of your comprehension.

15. What's really important?

After you have read the book try to summarize it in under 100 words. Ask yourself: "What's really important from this book? What should I really remember from it?" Then, write it down and don't go over the 100 words. This exercise will help you to be more concise and will will show you the level of comprehension that you are currently at.

16. Again and again

Set yourself a goal of reading 30 to 50 pages or more per day. This way you will improve your reading and comprehension skills. Reading makes perfect! Whenever you have a break, sit down and red 4-5 pages of your book and this way you will improve your reading and comprehension skills and also your memory.

Bonus Tip

This is mostly useful to find a book that you read in the past, faster. Tag each book with keywords just like if you were searching for something on google. What words could describe the book you just read? motivation? being happy? Write all the keywords you think the book fits in so that in your agenda, under motivation you would have this book, if it fits there and others that also fit.

This way, whenever you need motivation or something else, you just have to look into your agenda and you have a whole list to choose from.

I hope this article helped you find new ways to better comprehend and remember what you are reading. I am very interested to know what you think of these tips. Did they help you improve the quality of your reading?

The only way I can improve and write better articles for you, is if you give me feedback like rating this article and commenting on it! Thank you!

Worries. We Can't Really Live With Them, So How Can We Live Without Them?

Why do we worry in the first place?

It's because we are unsure of the future. And this is caused by our past, which is haunting us. And you know what happens when we do this? We stop living. We forget that, actually, all that matters for you and me, is this second, this minute, this day. No more, no less. It's all that matters, and you know why? Because you and I, we could die today. And if that would happen, would any past issues or fears matter for you? For me? Would you need to know your future anymore?

Just imagine this. If you were dying right now (and although I'm a very optimistic guy, I have to tell you that this is a very real possibility as more than 145 000 people die every day), so if you were living your last moments on this earth, what would you think of? Would you think that you were such a foul that you didn't live more, laugh more, sing more, dance more, write more, love more.

Would you think of all those trillions of worries that you've embraced so warmly and think that you should have instead embraced your future and your past so that you had lived a better present? Would worries help you then, right there, on your dying bed?

Imagine that you are there. Don't just read this lines. You are there. Do worries help you know? Did they help you ever? In fact, if you think about it, all your worries or 99% of them, turned out to be a complete waste of time and things turned out to be great in the end.

But you lost all that time... Who can take back that time and give it back to you? No one. You could have, but you chose to worry and worry again. You seemed so found of your little worries. They had became your friends. I know you will say that's not the case. Well, then, if you hate worries and they are not your friends, why are spending so much time with them?

Why are you even listening to them? Why are you spending so much of your life in the presence of worries. You know now that worries are only here to make you sad and feel depressed for any reason or motive. Worries don't care about you. They don't care if you even end up dead because of them. I think that when you will be dead, they will actually say: "Good job. Another one bites the dust. On to the next."

They don't care about you, so why should you care about them? Stop worrying now or that image of yourself, on that bed, dying, is going to become a crude reality soon. Do you want that? If you don't, then do something about it. It's in your power.

Start living, planning your life and what you want to do and trow worries at the garbage can. Embrace your past and learn from your mistakes. Then let you past go. Don't hold on to it. You don't need it anymore. You've learned what there was to learn. Tell the past that it's time you moved on and he is no longer needed. He will probably cry a little, but he will manage, don't worry :)

Then, look at your future. Will it be good? Will it bring a lot of problems? Who knows? It all depends on what you do from now on. Each moment will add up to form your future, so you don't need to loose time and wonder about it. You are your own future. You don't need to stop and wonder. All you need to do is live today as you want to be tomorrow. The future has no power. It is only thin air.

The future can not live without the present. It can not be without it. The present is really the important thing here. It has the power. Today is more powerful than tomorrow because it's happening now. Without today, tomorrow is dead. So the future depends on the present. It can not live without it.

Don't waste your time with the future. Put time and effort into the present. Stop worrying. Don't be afraid. It's time you realized the power of now. It's time you lived those moments you only lived when you've imagined you were dying. Remember them? You now have a second chance. Live. Live like you never lived before.

If you really worry a lot and are depressed most of the time, maybe you should also look for a
depression treatment that could help you out. All the help you can get should be taken into consideration.

5 Of The Most Effective Motivation Boosters For People That Work From Home (Bloggers Included)

Motivation is the fuel that lights our interior engines. Without it we can not do anything. We have to be motivated to do something, whether you are working from home, as a blogger or anywhere else, you need to be motivated to complete your tasks and goals.

I'm sharing here 5 of the most effective motivation boosters for people that work from home (including bloggers), but these 5 tips also do the trick for anyone that is working, no matter where that may be. Enjoy!

Motivation Booster No.1 - I have no idea what to do!

Have you ever said this? Of course you have. I said it myself a thousand times. And it doesn't feel good at all to be in this kind of state. But, there's an easy solution to this and that is plan your work from home day and your entire week.

When you know what you have to do, and how to exactly get it done, you won't feel overwhelmed (or at least, not that overwhelmed). Not having a detailed plan of action, which shows you what things you need to do this week and the order in which you should do them is like walking blind folded on a Formula 1 track in the middle of the race! It's suicide!

When I get to work, which in my case is working from home at this blog, I always have a clear description of the things I want to do that day and also, the entire week. I try to be as detailed as possible and prioritize everything.

For example, when I make my daily plan (which I usually do the prior night), I first write down all the things that I want to do the next day and then ask myself: "What is the most important thing for my blog, from this list?" Then, I put a big number 1 in front of that activity, and then ask myself the same question again and write number 2 and so on, until the list is organized by importance.

I do this for each day of the week, write all of these goals on a list or write it in a word document and print it out. Then I stick the list on the a board, on the wall in front of me (this way I can look at it any time I want to see what to do next or any time I feel a little overwhelmed or unmotivated).

Just the simple fact that you will have this list in front of you, will give you a "I know what to do" or "I'm in control of my life" feeling that is just priceless. Also, try to use at least an image on that list. This will also increase the chances that you look at the list often => which will lead to bigger chances of achieving your goals!

So, write a list, put one or more images on it, print it out and stick it in front of your eyes (so there's no way you won't see it), read it often throughout the day and do the things you wrote on it! It's simple, yet so powerful! It's the difference between having a map when you go to visit a completely new country and not having one. If you have a map, chances are that you will get exactly where you want to. If you don't have a map, you will lose a lot of time asking for directions and your trip will be ruined. So make a map!

Also important here: don't forget to prioritize the items on the list. If you don't do so, it like you have the map but don't know how to read it (you will often ask yourself, while looking at your list: "What should I do now? Should I do this or that?" and then, you will probably say: "Oh, I should have listened to that guy when he said to prioritize all my things and activities!" :) Prioritize them.

Motivation Booster No.2 - Are you starring your work?

Focus on what you are doing

Motivation comes from focusing on what you have to do. You can't expect to get good results on what you are doing if you constantly keep thinking of tonight's game or what Oprah will say on her show! If you do this, you are programing yourself for failure and you will never get your job done. Pay attention to what you have to do right now!

Concentrate only on what you are doing! If you get distracted, get back to work as soon as possible and try to not break the flow. Every time you feel distracted, try to remind yourself that you want to get this done as fast as possible and this is not helping!

Motivation Booster No.3 - Run from your work!

Sometimes, in order to get motivated to work, you have to take drastic measures, like running from your work! If you start to feel overwhelmed about what you have to do, and nothing can get you motivated to do it, you may want to think about "fleeing the scene of the crime". Sometimes the best way to do something is by not doing it at all (at least not for now).

Just get away from that office. Run as fast as you can and don't look back. Go and have lunch or just go for a walk and don't think about what you have to do. Relax, and only think of other things, things that you love to do. Breath the fresh air and stand tall. Don't hurry. Walk slowly and look at all the things around you. Feel the moment. Don't think. Just walk and look around. Do this for at least 10 minutes and then get back to work and finish that assignment.

Motivation Booster No.4 - "I see you!"

This is a line from the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, a movie I used recently to boost my motivation (you can read this article, and learn a great way to get motivated in under 50 minutes - that's how long it took me, but you can do it much faster- read it here) If you don't know the movie, in it there's an all seeing eye of fire that is searching for a powerful ring and whenever someone put on that ring, the eye can see it.

This exactly what you have to say whenever you feel down and only see the difficulties in your job. You have to look past those difficulties and see the great parts of what you are doing, the rewards that will come after you complete your task. Visualize those rewards and tell them: "I see you!"

Motivation Booster No.5 - I like this, and that, and that...this I don't like so much

Make a list of things you enjoy about your job

Ask yourself: "Why do I do this, every day?" If the answer is "For the money", then you are in big trouble. If you only work for money, it will be hard for you to get motivated. You have to expand your thinking and find new things that excites you about your work.

What seems to make you feel good about your job, except the money you get from it? Think about it. Write down the answer(s). If you can not absolutely find something else that money, maybe you should think about changing your work place and find something that you really like to do.

I love what I'm doing. I love to blog because it allows me to do the 2 things that I absolutely enjoy doing: write and help people. These aren't the only things that motivate me each day to keep blogging and writing stories (because I also write stories -- if you want, you can read The Prayer , one of my stories), but they are the most important ones.

These two things get my motivated whenever I get discouraged or overwhelmed and keep me on track. whenever I feel down and I ask myself "Why I'm a doing this?", I look on my board and the answers are there. It's because I love to help others achieve more and live a better life. And it's because I enjoy writing blog posts, stories, articles, even poetry sometimes (although I haven't wrote one in a while - I'll put that on my to do list right now :)

These are a couple of things that motivate me. But this is not all that important. What is important is what motivates you? What makes you feel great about what you do?

I would be very glad to see your comments here.
